Description:

J.K chemical 705T is a dark tan ferrite, produced by the high temperature reaction of iron oxide and magnesium oxide

(Fe2O3•MgO). 705T is a high performance, heat stable pigment, processed for ease of dispersion, color consistency and stable performance in coatings, both aqueous and non‐aqueous, plastics and other high‐heat applications where high temperature resistance and weather durability is required.


The 705T is most commonly used in plastics. High temperature stability and ease of dispersion make these pigments suitable for resin systems from LLDPE and vinyl to sophisticated engineering polymers. Interactions of pigment and some resins in high‐temp plastics compounding can lead to slight color shifts. Suitability of tan pigments should be verified for specific applications. Exterior durability is improved by the ultraviolet screening properties contributed by these pigments, especially with polymers that are sensitive to sunlight. The unique infrared reflectance of 705T makes it especially suitable for camouflage coatings, such as MIL‐C‐46168C.
